Mahesh Bhatt‘s ‘Arth’ starring Khulbushan Kharbanda was a hit back in 1982. Now, seems like the film is all set to be remade and Bobby Deol has reportedly confirmed that he is in talks to be a part of this project.

According to an exclusive by Times Of India, Bobby confirmed the news saying that he is in talks, but hasn’t signed anything as yet.

The film is set to be helmed by actor and director Revathi. And the article also mentions that Swara Bhasker and Jacqueline Fernandez are being considered to play the female leads in the film. The publication also adds that Taapsee Pannu was also approached to play Shabana Azmi‘s role, but she had to turn it down due to prior work commitments.

Co-incidentally, the director of the remake, Revathi, played Shabana Azmi’s role in the Tamil remake of the film which was titled ‘Marupadiyum’. She reportedly didn’t want to take up directing the film, but agreed to after speaking with Mahesh Bhatt.

On the work front, Bobby made an impactful debut with his web series, Aashram. He even recently won the Dadasaheb Phalke International Film Festival Award for his performance in the series. The actor also featured in the film, ‘Class of ’83’ and is next going to star in Sandeep Reddy Vanga‘s ‘Animal’ that stars Ranbir Kapoor in the titular role.

Coming back to the remake of Arth, I sure am excited to know more about it!
