Akshay Kumar announced last year during Raksha Bandhan that he will be producing and starring in a film based on the Indian ritual celebrating the bond between siblings.

Titled ‘Raksha Bandhan’, the film is set to go on floors soon and the makers are gearing up for the shoot to start. In preparation for that, according to a report by Bollywood Hungama, they are erecting an entire Mumbai Chawl in a studio. The set designers have reportedly been asked to finish setting up by mid-April, which is when Akshay will complete the shoot of Bachchan Pandey and move on to Raksha Bandhan.

The film is going to be directed by Aanand L Rai, whom Akshay is already working with in Atrangi Re. The film is reportedly an emotional drama based around the bond shared by siblings. In his announcement post last year, he shared that this film was dedicated to his sister Alka, who he shares a very close bond with.

And speaking about his line-up of films apart from that, he has his hands full with Sooryavanshi, Bell Bottom, Prithviraj, Ram Setu and Atrangi Re for now. Phew! What a line-up that is, no?

Coming back to Raksha Bandhan, I sure cannot wait to see what Akshay has in store for us!
