The trailer of MX Original Series ‘Chakravyuh – An Inspector Virkar Crime Thriller’ dropped a week ago and I just couldn’t wait for the show to stream. Promising to redefine the genre of tense cat-and-mouse-thrillers, this Prateik Babbar starrer chronicles the story of an eccentric Inspector, Virkar (played by Prateik). He is in a race against time and on a mission to uncover a ruthless blackmailer who uses the dark web and social networking sites to victimise young college students. The series is based on Piyush Jha’s book, ‘Anti-Social Network’. If you are a sucker for thriller and action, you’re definitely in for a treat.

Helmed by Sajit Warrier, this crime thriller is an 8-episodic present-day story of an angry cop with his own brand of justice, who stumbles upon a case of a ghastly murder. During the process of the investigation, Inspector Virkar comes across a group of tech-savvy miscreants who use the internet for blackmail & other illegal activity. With the help of an informant, a hacker and a student counsellor, Virkar is focused on finding the missing link between both these cases. The series will keep you hooked from the first episode.
Prateik Babbar as Inspector Virkar
If you are a fan of Prateik Babbar (like me), you are absolutely in for a treat. The actor is always one to stay true to the character and always brings his own charisma to any role he takes on. His portrayal of Inspector Virkar, who has embarked on a mission to uncover the tech-savvy miscreants, looks impeccable from the looks of the trailer. And what’s even interesting is that the leading man has performed all the action sequences by himself in this riveting mystery series.
Complete package
With a trailer that manages to create just the right amount of curiosity and intrigue, Chakravyuh comes across as every bit the binge-worthy show that you needed to kickstart your weekend. A thriller that boasts of a compelling story, a great cast, the show is a complete package that is both high on substance and narrative.
Touches the topic of cybercrime
Given the digital world we live in, cybercrimes and computer hacking are more frequent than we would think and Chakravyuh touches on this very important topic which affects a lot of people worldwide. It delves into how Inspector Virkar reaches the root of the issue that has been plaguing our society for the longest time. I sure am super interested to see how they portray this on the screen.
Along with Prateik Babbar, the series also stars Simran Kaur Mundi, Ruhi Singh, Ashish Vidyarthi, Shiv Panditt, Gopal Datt and the late Asif Basra in pivotal roles.
