There were rumours doing rounds that actor Rajkummar Rao had turned down Karan Johar’s Dostana 2 as he was not willing to play a gay character. The film now features Kartik Aaryan, Janhvi Kapoor and debutant Lakshya in lead roles.
Recently in a candid conversation with a publication, Rajkummar rubbished the rumours about turning down the film because of this reason. The actor said that he is shocked to hear about such speculations because he is someone who likes to try his hands on different characters. Rajkummar added that he would like to play all sorts of roles and be part of varied stories.
However, in an interview with Mumbai Mirror, Rajkummar had opened up that he couldn’t be a part of Dostana 2 due to his date issued. The actor further added that he is raring to work with Karan Johar and was quoted as saying, “He’s one of the finest filmmakers in the country. I hope something works out soon and I am pretty sure that it will.”
According to reports, in Dostana 2, Janhvi Kapoor and Kartik Aaryan are all set to play siblings who fall for the same guy, played by Lakshya.
Speaking about Rajkummar Rao, the actor was last seen in Roohi which released theatrically. Further, the actor recently wrapped up the shooting of Badhaai Do.
