After a whole year of films not releasing in theatres owing to the COVID-19 pandemic, things slightly started to look up since December as a few films began releasing in the theatres once again. But in the past few weeks, there has been a steady rise in the number of COVID-19 cases once again, forcing a few of them to re-think their decision to release their films theatrically.

One such film that has faced the brunt of this sudden change in the COVID climate has been Haathi Mere Saathi. The film, starring Pulkit Samrat, Rana Daggubati and Shriya Pilgaonkar among others, was set to previously release in 2020, but it got pushed due to the nationwide lockdown. They were finally set to release the multi-lingual film this 26th March, but the release of the Hindi version has been put on hold due to the rising concerns in Maharashtra.

The lead actor, Pulkit, took to his social media today to share the news and assured that they will keep the audiences informed about any further developments.

He wrote:

Dear viewers, It pains us to share this news but given the Covid-19 situation in the Hindi markets, the team of Haathi Mere Saathi has decided to hold on to the release of the film. We shall keep you posted on further developments. However, we will be releasing Aranya and Kaadan in the South markets on the 26th of March.

The Tamil (Kaadan) and Telegu (Aranya) are set to release as per schedule on March 26th and I’m sure fans are super excited to catch it on the big screens.

As for the Hindi version, here’s hoping we get to catch it in the in theatres too, very soon!
