SS Rajamouli‘s Baahubali turned out to be the biggest Indian film of all times. When the movie had hit the theatres, little did we expect such an overwhelming reaction from the audiences but it worked extremely well for everyone involved. Now, Baahubali is all set to have a prequel series on Netflix. The prequel will chronicle the life of the character Sivagami, which was played by Ramya Krishnan in the film. Earlier there were reports that Mrunal Thakur was going to play the role of young Sivagami but now Bollywood Hungama suggests that Wamiqa Gabbi will now play the character.

For the unversed, shooting for the Netflix project had started as well and Mrunal Thakur was chosen to play the character of the young Sivagami. But the movie got scrapped mid-way because the makers were not happy with the way the film was turning up. The report also mentioned that they shot almost 70% of the film and decided to scrap it completely as they didn’t want to compromise on the quality.

Now, the makers are placing the whole project back together with a fresh cast. The reason behind Mrunal not being a part of the project is her date issues.

Wamiqa Gabbi who is now all set to play Sivagami has been a part of Hindi films like Jab We Met, Mausam and Love Aaj Kal.
