Shah Rukh Khan Gets Nostalgic As A US Navy Band Sings A Song From His Film 'Swades'

It’s always something of great pride when we hear people abroad enjoy our Indian music and films, no? Recently, thanks to Twitter, a video of the US Navy band singing along to Swades‘ song ‘Yeh Jo Desh Hai Mera‘ went viral. Shah Rukh Khan, who starred in the 2004 Ashutosh Gowariker directorial, came across this video just last night and expressed his happiness and gratitude.

The video was of the Navy band’s performance for the US Chief of Naval Operations and Taranjit Singh Sandhu — the Ambassador of India to the United States.

Sharing the clip, SRK wrote:

Thank u for sharing this sir. How lovely. Git all nostalgic about the time spent making this beautiful film and belief sung in the song. Thanx @AshGowariker @RonnieScrewvala @arrahman & everyone who made it possible.

Speaking about the track, the composer, A.R. Rahman also took to his Twitter to share the video tagging Ashutosh and lyricist Javed Akhtar and wrote, “Swades rules for ever”.
