Just yesterday, we got news of actor Akshay Kumar testing positive for COVID-19. In the past few days, India has been seeing a surge in the number of active cases as we have been hit with the second wave of the pandemic. It came as a shock to all his fans when Akshay announced that he had caught the virus, too. The actor took to his social media to share the news.
In the note, he had written that he has self isolated and following all the safety guidelines, hoping to get back to work very soon. But just today, he shared another note stating that as a necessary precaution and as advised by his doctors, he has been hospitalised. He assured that he was doing fine and thanked everyone for their blessings and prayers.

Thank you everyone for all your warm wishes and prayers, they seem to be working , I am doing fine, but as a precautionary measure under medical advice, I have been hospitalised. I hope to be back home soon. Take care

The actor was recently shooting for his upcoming film titled ‘Ram Setu’ alongside Jacqueline Fernandez and Nushrratt Bharuccha. News is that around 45 members of the crew of the film have also tested positive for the virus. The shoot has been put on hold now, with the rest of the team isolating at home. After Akshay’s diagnosis, Nushrratt took to her Instagram to share a story, informing that she has isolated herself and is taking all the necessary precautions like steam inhalation to take care of her health and stay healthy for when shoot resumes.
