2020 was a very unfortunate year for The Indian Film industry, which suffered not just due to the pandemic but also because it lost some of its finest gems, icons like Rishi Kapoor, Irrfan Khan, and Sushant Singh Rajput amongst many others. These actors showed us the power and beauty of the cinema with their talent and charm each time they appeared on the big screen.

BAFTA Awards honoured late actors – Irrfan Khan, Rishi Kapoor, and Chadwick Boseman in their ‘In Memorium’ segment at the award ceremony. Over 40 artists from the entertainment world were given a tribute and some of the other artists include – Sean Connery, Kirk Douglas, Ian Holm. The event took place at the Royal Albert Hall in London where Priyanka Chopra was one of the presenters.

Veteran actor, Rishi Kapoor was diagnosed with leukemia in September 2018. He fought a brave battle against the disease for two long years but on April 30, 2020, he passed away after his health deteriorated. He was one of the finest actors whose acting career spanned more than four decades and was a part of more than a hundred films. Another such icon was Irrfan Khan, who introduced the Hindi cinema fanatics to a whole new world of movies that were totally a class apart and showed us the true meaning of fine-acting. The actor breathed his last on April 29,  after a two-year battle with neuroendocrine tumor.

Their loss definitely left a huge void in the Indian Film Industry but I’m sure they will always stay alive in our memories and hearts.
