As India sees a surge in the number of Covid-19 cases, most parts of the country are under lockdown. Most businesses and other industries have taken a big hit due to the ongoing lockdown. Bollywood too has been affected to a great extent where theatres, shoot schedules, and movie releases have been put on hold.

John Abraham and Salman Khan were to lock horns this Eid, with Satyameva Jayate 2 and Radhe: Your Most Wanted Bhai to hit the cinemas. While Salman recently announced that his film will have a hybrid release, the makers of John starrer are now having to rethink the film release. Director Milap Zaveri, producer Nikkhil Advani and T-Series head Bhushan Kumar have decided to hold off the release date of the film which was initially May 13.

Cinemas in most states including Maharashtra are shut at the moment. Even with the ongoing vaccination drive, it might take some time for the situation across India to normalize. The filmmakers are want to support the theatre business through their film and hence, are not yet in talks with any OTT platform about its digital release. Looking at the current situation, the makers issued a joint statement where they said “Nothing matters more than the safety and well-being of our countrymen and patrons.”

I am definitely looking forward to this sequel but at the same time, request you all to please stay safe, be at home and wear a mask wherever necessary.
