'Maharani' Trailer: This Huma Qureshi-Starrer Shows Her Journey From A Housewife To Becoming The Chief Minister

The makers of  Maharani unveiled the trailer of the Huma Qureshi starrer series on Sunday. The trailer takes us inside the world of politics. Huma who plays the lead role of Rani Bharti shared the release date of the series on her social media. Taking to her Twitter, she wrote, “A political drama set in Bihar of 90’s. With its caste arithmetic, traditional satraps, and the emerging voice…will an illiterate woman survive this? #Maharani – Streaming on 28th May only on #SonyLIV

Into a couple of minutes into the trailer, we hear a voice-over that tells us how politics is similar to the game of chess. Soon, we meet the significant characters of Maharni – Sohum Shah and Amit Sial. The show is based in the backdrop of Bihar where Sohum plays the Chief Minister of the state while Amit Sial plays someone from the opposition party.

Helmed by Karan Sharma, the show features Sohum Shah, Amit Sial, Vineet Kuma, Kani Kusruti, and Inaam Ul Haq in key roles among others. Maharani is a fictionalized series that is all set to drop on May 28.
