Shriya Pilgaonkar's Short Film 'Sita' Set To Play At The Cannes Film Festival 2021

Shriya Pilgaonkar has always been one to push the envelope with every project she takes on, amirite? Be it Mirzapur, The Gone Game or Haathi Mere Saathi, she definitely is one of those actors who chooses quality over quantity. It’s not any different with her latest project, a short film titled ‘Sita’.

The film seems to be going places and just today, Shriya took to her Instagram to announce that ‘Sita’ has been selected to play at the upcoming Cannes Film Festival. She mentions that her short film will be playing at the ‘Court Mètrage’ short film corner in the festival that is taking place from 12th-16th July. It is one of the 6 short films that had been selected to represent our country.

The short is based on mythology and the legendary female character, Sita. Directed by Abhinav Singh, has Shriya playing the lead role along with Lilliput. The film also stars Om Kanojiya, Devessh Ranjan, Sibasis Nayak among others. It has been produced by Abhinav’s Big Banner Films and Data Entertainment.

Back in March, Shriya shared the teaser of the film and it looked super intriguing, mysterious and poignant, with her playing Sita.
