Nothing about this pandemic is normal, all our lives have been turned upside down and getting used to this new normal one year later still seems stressful. As I ponder about my life pre-pandemic I came to realise there were a lot of things I missed about it even more than Chaat and Sushi. Scroll on to see a list of things that I miss wearing.
Here’s a list of things I’ve missed wearing because of the pandemic:
1) My sneakers.
I love wearing sneakers, it’s almost my favourite things about getting dressed and going out. I would even wear them with my wedding dress but if you know me you already know that’s my vibe. But thanks to the pandemic and me barely stepping out I haven’t worn anything apart from slip-ons.
2) All-black clothes to the office.
I love love, love black clothes. I have different styles of tops and tees in black and I wear them with black jeans or black bottoms. I would however wear a pop of colour once in a while to freak people out at the office.
3) Over-the-top earrings.
I love big, flashy earrings more than any other accessory. I don’t wear them to work or often unless I have to go out to a formal event.
I don’t remember a time when I wasn’t wearing a pair of jeans. I’ve worn them since I was a kid and wear them to date. But since the pandemic, I haven’t been able to get myself to wear jeans, just like my bras.
5) Mini skirts.
I prefer skirts to shorts and jeans. The ventilation is great and they work well with tee and shirts my usual go-to styles. I also wear my formal party skirts with sneakers.
6) Oversized shirts.
Who doesn’t love an easy, breezy shirt, ya? I wear them on days I feel period bloat coming around. They conceal my tubby tummy and make me feel super comfortable. Even during the pandemic, my oversized shirts seem to be my go-to armour of choice.
I don’t miss much about the rains in Mumbai, because all I would hope for is to stay home, huddled and snuggled in bed. And wish granted thanks to this pandemic obviously, but every once in a while I can’t help but reminisce about the time when my feet would stay dry thanks to my gum-boots.
I really miss makeup just as much as I miss wearing my sneakers. There was something about putting on makeup and feeling pretty every morning as opposed to feeling dull and tired every other day now.
9) Sexy underwear.
My sexy underwear doesn’t see the light of day anymore. Now it’s only granny panties and absolutely no bras whatsoever.
