Films based on the historic events of the past have always managed to intrigue and attract the audience. Ajay Devgn and Sanjay Dutt will soon be seen in Bhuj: The Pride Of India, a movie based on the Indo-Pakistan war of 1971. The film will release on 13th August and Ajay took to social media to announce the news.

Bhuj helmed by Abhishek Dudhaiya is based on real events from the 1971 Indo-Pak war when Pakistan attacked Bhuj airbase as part of Operation Chenghiz Khan. In the film, Ajay Devgn will play the role of IAF Squadron Vijay Karnik, who reconstructed the Bhuj airbase with the help of 300 local women so they could fight back and serve the country. The film will also feature Nora Fatehi, Shraddha Kapoor, Sonakshi Sinha, and Ammy Virk in the lead roles.

As per a report on Indian Express, producer of the film, Bhushan Kumar says-

This courageous tale needs to be told because we want the current and the coming generation to know about this brave soldier, Squadron Leader Vijay Karnik, who played a significant role in India’s victory in the 1971 war. He was heroic enough to take this bold step of involving civilians in a war. Also, who better than Ajay Devgn for the role of Vijay Karnik?

The trailer for Bhuj will be out on 13th July and I am looking forward to catching a short glimpse of this amazing story before the big picture.
