In some unfortunate news today, we informed you about veteran actor Dilip Kumar‘s passing. The actor was 98-years-old and passed away after suffering from a prolonged illness.

The legendary actor has been a legacy on his own, with his work being a benchmark of stardom and success. Bollywood came together today to mourn his loss and pay tribute to the man who had such an impact on their lives and careers. Actors like Anupam Kher, Shah Rukh Khan, Vidya Balan, Ranbir Kapoor, Shabana Azmi and others visited the veteran actor’s house to pay their respects and meet his grieving wife, Saira Banu. A lot of them also took to social media to share their condolences and thank Dilip Sahab for his contributions to Indian cinema and giving them the courage to dream.

Amitabh Bachchan wrote, “whenever the history of Indian Cinema will be written , it shall always be ‘before Dilip Kumar, and after Dilip Kumar’”.

Abhishek Bachchan too shared a picture with the legend himself and in his caption, shared an anecdote about how Dilip Sahab was supposed to play his father in his debut film ‘Aakhri Mughal’. But the film never got made and he never got the opportunity to star in a film with someone his father, Amit Ji, considered an idol.

Ajay Devgn too shared how his heart was broken and that nothing would have prepared him to face Dilip Sahab‘s loss, whom he has shared screen space with in a few films.

Anil shared a throwback picture of a very young him and Jackie Shroff with Dilip Sahab and wrote, “He was and will always be the finest & greatest actor of our industry for me,” while Sanjay shared a picture of Dilip Sahab and his father and wrote, “We grew up hearing Yusuf Saab’s stories (that’s how my father used to address him).”
