Deepika Padukone and perfection go hand-in-hand. She literally brings characters to life with her performance and skill. Be it Padmaavat or Bajirao Mastaani, she did 100% justice to the historic characters and showcased their story in the best way possible. Earlier there were reports that she will be playing Draupadi in Madhu Mantena’s Mahabharat, but during a recent interview, the producer revealed that he will first work on Ramayana.

In October 2019, it was revealed that the film based on Mahabharata will showcase the story from Draupadi’s point of view and Deepika will be playing the lead. However, in a recent interview with Pinkvilla, Madu Mantena spoke about his plans to work on the epic, Ramayana first. Details about Ramayana are still under wraps and that is leaving the fans chomping at the bit.

In an interview with Pinkvilla, the producer said-

Deepika and I are making it (the film based on Mahabharata) together, but it’s going to be Ramayana first. These things take time and we don’t want to be irresponsible in our approach. Deepika and I are trying to do the Mahabharata from Draupadi’s point of view because we want the people to understand who Draupadi is. There is a lot of research that’s going on (as we speak).

When asked about why Deepika chose to play Draupadi, he said-

Deepika is not making this film because she is an actor, she is making it because she and I strongly feel that it’s a great story that is to be told from Draupadi’s point of view. We are working hard to put everything together. These projects do take time, and we all know that. These are not small responsibilities, we are looking to create a world that has not been seen before.

Deepika will next be seen in Kabir Khan’s 83 alongside Ranveer Singh. The actress also has Pathan, Fighter, The Intern, and an untitled project with Prabhas in the pipeline.
