News about Kartik Aaryan‘s next film, Freddy, has been out for a while now, with a lot of speculations surrounding it. The film, produced by Ekta Kapoor, is reportedly set to go on floors this August. According to a report in Pinkvilla, the film has been in pre-production stage for some time now and has finally got a director on board.
A source close to the development told the publication:
All through the last 3 months, the makers have been working on pre-production and other aspects of Freddy. While Ajay Bahl was supposed to be the director before, the film will now be helmed by Shashanka Ghosh, who last directed Veere Di Wedding.
Kartik, who will also be shooting for Anees Bazmee‘s ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2‘, will be juggling between that and Freddy. When it comes to the female lead of the film, the makers are yet to reveal the details about it. The report also states that there are a lot of sets being set up in the city for the shoot of the film.
Kartik is also set to headline Ekta Kapoor’s other production, Shehzada, which is the official remake of the Allu Arjun-Pooja Hegde starrer Telugu film, ‘Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo‘. Apart from this, he has Ram Madhvani‘s film, ‘Dhamaka‘, which is set to premiere on OTT soon. He also just announced his next venture with Hansal Mehta titled Captain India.
