Over the past few months, the film industry had to delay its shoot schedules and push film release dates due to the ongoing pandemic. The second wave of the Covid-19 pandemic was tough and in order to curb the spread of the virus, cinema halls had been shut for a long time. Now that there have been some relaxations in the lockdown rules, filmmakers and production houses have started shooting again, following all the Covid-19 protocols.

Chehre, a mystery-thriller film helmed by Rumi Jaffery and produced by Anand Pandit’s Motion Pictures and Saraswati Entertainment Private Limited will feature Amitabh Bachchan and Emraan Hashmi in the lead roles. Chehre was supposed to release in theatres earlier this year, but due to the second wave of the pandemic, the release date was postponed. The team was actually hoping for an April release initially but now they are looking at August. Now as per the latest reports and confirmation by the makers, the film is scheduled to have a theatrical release on August 27.

When asked about the release of the film, producer Anand Pandit shares-

The team had taken great efforts and we always thought that Chehre deserved a theatrical release. We want the magnanimity of the film to be showcased in the right way and hence are excited to finally reach the audience through the cinema screens.

Director Rumy Jafry shares-

We are excited that our film is getting a theatrical release because the way it is shot and the efforts we have taken in terms of production and post-production can only be experienced in the cinema halls. Also, I assure the audience that it will be beyond satisfaction to watch Amitabh Ji and Emraan together on the big screen for the first time.

I am super excited that the film will be out in cinema halls soon and can’t wait to go and watch it on the big screen.
