Rajveer Ankur Singh recently featured alongside Esha Deol Takhtani in the digital film titled Ek Duaa and his performance was phenomenal! Rajveer Ankur Singh started his career with the critically acclaimed movie Called G kutta se, where he played the male protagonist and won several nominations and reviews for his phenomenal performance in the Hindi movie.
Recently we got a chance to interview him, and we asked him about his stardom journey, his experiences and his future projects, and here’s what he had to say-
How has your journey been from your debut film G Kutta Se to Ek Duaa ?
From G Kutta Se to Ek Duaa the journey has been just amazing and full of ups and downs which every actor goes through and that’s what it makes it special, because when you succeed, the happiness is just unbelievable. I’m very happy with the kind of work and the kind of path I chose up till now and starting my career from with G Kutta Se. I was offered a lot of things in between. There were times when I thought I should pick up those smaller roles those roles which didn’t really push or motivate me as an actor, so I chose to just stay back and believe in myself.
Your movie selection has been interesting with some very strong topics, what is the reason for this?
G Kutta Se was something that came my way and when I read the script I just couldn’t resist because it was such a strong subject and such a relevant subject at that time in 2000. I hope that that the work that I want to do or will do touches somebody in some way and when they watch the film and they come out or they’re watching at home, it actually leave them with some kind of a message, some kind of feeling that okay this is what was it all about.
Your journey as a model has been good with acting projects coming in are you going to take a backseat in modelling?
My journey as a model started when I shifted to Mumbai. I love modeling and love being in front of camera. And so I love shooting and I if I’m free and not shooting for a film or a show I like to do that. I would much rather be working. So yeah, back seat will happen once I am just swamped with work. But, I will always just figure out and take out some time to do a bit of modeling.
Tell us about your experience of shooting for Ek Duaa and your equation with Esha Deol?
The experience was really amazing because it was Esha’s first movie as a producer, and she was coming back almost after 10 years to acting. Sometimes Hema Ji would come and she would always say encouraging words. One day when she came for a photo shoot or something that we were doing, she was kind enough to just tell me that ‘ Young man, best of luck, I think you have a bright future’, and those words have stuck with me. Esha never made me feel out of the team or somebody who’s an outside or somebody who’s doesn’t belong there. So it was wonderful. I I think she’s a wonderful wonderful person, a great human being and a great mother.
You have a 6 yr old daughter, how do you balance your professional and personal life?
Oh! You have asked my something that I’m so emotional about. My daughter is like my lifeline, and it’s been very difficult for me because my daughter lives here, in US, San Francisco and that’s where she has started her school. So for me it’s very difficult to manage these two countries and due to work commitments I have to be in Bombay for that certain amount of time. I’ve gone through a lot in life and that’s what has made me even stronger today. So absolutely embracing the moment right now being with her. Daughters are just out of this world. Amazing.
Who are your idols in the industry?
I have I’ve been a humongous fan of Dilip Sahab. I couldn’t help but think that how could a man be so perfect. It was like the first time you get a combination of an actor and a star. He was a phenomenal actor and a megastar together in one. Other than Dilip Sahab, Irrfan Khan was one of my favorite. Irrfan bhai was amazing as an actor, as a human being. I cannot believe both actors and human beings that I admired the most, just left us in last last few years.
Where do we see you next?
You see, after Gutta said took a break and I was not in a hurry to just do whatever came my way. The most important for me thing is to enjoy the job that I am doing and that is only possible when I have the right kind of work. So I am just going to wait out for the right kind of work in the right kind of project. To all the Indie filmmakers who want to make some great films just remember Rajveer Ankur Singh is there and I want to do quality work and good out of the box script and roles.
When asked about his future projects, he said-
There’s Netflix series that might start in January. I’m not allowed to disclose anything at the moment. We are still talking to the team. And there is this z5 digital film which I cannot disclose much about, but it will be starting from December. As soon as I can get a go-ahead I’ll be the first one to tell you guys about it. Things coming up and 2021 and 22 are going to be amazing that I can promise you.
