Megastar Amitabh Bachchan never fails to give stellar performances. Even in his latest film Chehre, Big B has done a fabulous job. In fact, when his look was revealed for the first time, I knew the film would be something to watch out for. Now with its release today, the Rumi Jaffery directorial has been getting some amazing reviews and there are a lot of things from the movie that are being talked about. Amongst them, is a monologue that Amitabh Bachchan delivers in the film’s climax.

In the climax of Chehre, Mr. Bachchan delivers a 13-minute long monologue on violence against women and boy, it takes the narrative to the next level.  Even the other actors, Emraan Hashmi, Krystle D’souza, Rhea Chakraborty, and Annu Kapoor are receiving applause for their performances. However, it is this monologue that seems to be making a world record. And as per a report in Bollywood Hungama, it is being said that this monologue will be converted into a video for women’s safety.

Talking about this monologue, producer Anand Pandit told the portal,

No actor in the world has delivered such a long and revealing monologue on any issue. You will be surprised to know it was Bachchan Saab’s idea. He thought it would be a good idea to elevate the debate on the issue of rape and women’s safety in the film to another more universal level, and he was right.”

Anand Pandit also further shared that the monologue has been written by Mr. Bachchan himself. And what is amazing is that Big B delivered this monologue in just one take. Now the makers of Chehre intend to share this monologue as a video to all organizations devoted to working towards women’s safety, free of cost.

Well, I have to say, right from the title track to the trailer, I have been spellbound by Big B’s act in the film and he has literally left me speechless with this monologue. I am sure you too will love it, when you see the film.
