Lyricist Kaushal Kishore who has written penned some amazing songs like Muskurayega India, Jeeta Rahe Mera India, has received amazing responses for his songs. And off late who also wrote the lyrics for Vande Mataram that featured Tiger Shroff. The song has received an amazing response and Kaushal has had an amazing experience with it.

So we decided to speak to the lyricist and know what it is to be associated with songs that do so well and here’s what he had to say…

The idea behind writing Vande Mataram

Writing Vande Mataram after Muskurayega India and Jeeta Rahe Mera India was a special experience. Muskurayega India was about hope, Jeeta Rahe Mera India was dedicated to the corporate world but Vande Mataram is a dialogue between the national flag and the citizens and how it inspires people to value hope and understand their responsibilities. Writing this song was tough because I started it even before Muskurayega India and the condition of the country was crossing my mind again and again while penning this track. So it took time because the circumstances in the country were tough and they kept changing. So I made changes to the track at least four times before coming up with the final version.

On Muskergaya India and Vande Mataram being praised by P.M.Modi

There cannot be a better reward for a writer than to be accepted by the people of his country. When PM Modi shared the lines from my track Muskurayega India when our country was battling COVID-19 and so many lives were getting lost, it felt like that was my responsibility and contribution towards the country. And when he shared Vande Mataram on the occasion of Independence Day, it felt rewarding. It meant a lot coming from him. This is not something that happens frequently. So many artistes from across the country shared the song post that. I feel honoured.

On Tiger Shroff making his singing debut with this song

Tiger is a very hard-working person. We should learn that from him. He dedicates a lot of time and energy towards everything, be it his dance, acting, or physique. It’s something we should learn from him. When I first learned that Tiger would sing the song, I was amazed.  The track demanded a lot of effort and rendering it was a responsibility. So yes, I was a little nervous but the way he’s sung it and the way composer Vishal Mishra has arranged it, it was so overwhelming. Tiger worked very hard and he’s sung it with perfection.

On his journey

I don’t think any journey is easy. Coming from a village where people don’t understand the meaning of a lyricist was challenging. But every journey has its own charm. I’ve been in the industry for almost 14 years and I’ve been observing things here very closely. I was sure that I’ll definitely make it big someday. I feel when the offer of Muskurayega India came my way and I penned it in 20 minutes, my life turned around post that. Today, I get to work with some major labels and I’m enjoying it.

On his upcoming projects

There are a lot of songs, but when you write for your country, the feeling is very different. I consider myself lucky that I’ve written three songs dedicated to my country so far and I’d love to write many more in the future as well. There’s no emotion stronger than your country.

Have you watched, Vande Mataram yet?
