One of Anurag Basu’s creative works, ‘Jagga Jasoos‘ has been in the news off late. Though the film did not work wonders at the box office, Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif were still loved for their characters. As per the reports of Mid-Day, The filmmaker has been approached by several OTT platforms to turn this film into a web series.
After the pandemic, audience preferences have changed and the entertainment space has taken a big turn. The digital space has gained a huge popularity and has been the go to platform for viewers. Do you think Anurag’s ‘Jagga Jasoos’ if made into a web series would would interest the viewers today? When the filmmaker was asked about the same, he said, “I wouldn’t name the platforms, but we had offers of developing it into a series. But if it didn’t work in theatres, how do we know it will work on OTT? Pritam is excited about the idea, and wants us to start working on it. However, I am in a strange space. When you do something with so much love and it doesn’t work, you don’t want to try it again. The idea of starting Jagga all over again is enough to give me the chills.”
We all have seen Anurag Basu deliver some brilliant work in the past and has been highly praised for his films. Nothing of such is confirmed yet but if the team decides to work on this project, It would really be interesting and something to look out for.
