Looks like Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt are Bollywood’s new favourite on-screen couple! After sharing the screen space in Karan Johar’s upcoming directorial project Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani, they will be collaborating again for Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Baiju Bawra.
Baiju Bawra will be Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s rendition of the musical saga, that was earlier filmed by Vijay Bhatt in 1952. The film will revolve around a young musician Baiju, who challenges the famous maestro Tansen in Mughal Emperor Akbar’s court to a musical duel to avenge his father’s death.
As per a report on Bollywood Hungama, a source close to the director revealed that-
The character needs a certain madness, a junoon that only Ranveer can project. Ranbir was never considered for the role. Alia was insistent. Bhansali thought she fitted the part. When she read the script she went berserk. Alia says it is the best script she had read
Ranveer Singh will next be seen playing the role of Kapil Dev in 83, while Alia Bhatt is currently gearing up for the release of Gangubai Kathiawadi.
