I have always been very amused with Shabana Azmi’s craft. Even recently when I saw her as Aisan Daulat Begum in the web show, The Empire, I was quite impressed. As an actor, Shabanaji has always been a renowned name, and her performances have surely been unforgettable. I still remember, how her monologue in Neerja moved me. But all that aside, we will next see Shabanaji in Karan Johar’s Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani.
She just begun shooting for it recently, and talking about working with Karan Johar on the film, she told MidDay in an interview that,
“It’s a comedy that deals with some important issues in a breezy way. I find it challenging to play a character in a Karan Johar film. He is both respectful and irreverent, and is open to suggestions. The prep has been invigorating. I have known Karan as a podgy teenager who would come to meet Javed (Akhtar).”
Sharing her experience of the first day of the shoot, she shared with the tabloid,
“Slipping into a role on the first day is like entering the living room of a person you have never met. Sometimes, you can make friends with the character instantly; at other times, it takes a few meetings to warm up.”
Well, I am quite excited about this film because of its stellar star cast. The film stars Alia Bhatt and Ranveer Singh in lead roles. Other than Shabana Azmi, Jaya Bachchan and Dharmendra are also a part of this film. The film is scheduled to release in 2022 and the wait is surely going to be a difficult one for me.
