Mallika Sherawat’s latest thriller web series Nakaab, which is currently streaming on MX Player is quite intriguing and is sure to keep you hooked till the very end. Apart from her, the series features Gautam Rode and Esha Gupta in pivotal roles. Recently, in an interview with Pinkvilla, Mallika opened up and spilled the beans when asked about why she was not a part of the film, Welcome Back.
I am sure you all remember Mallika did a fabulous job in the 2007 film Welcome, in which she played the love interest of the iconic characters, Majnu bhai (Anil Kapoor) and Uday bhai (Nana Patekar). The sequel, Welcome Back released in 2015, however this time, Mallika was not a part of the film, because as told by her, the director chose to cast his girlfriend instead.
Speaking of the film Welcome Back, Mallika revealed-
Welcome ka sequel banega toh director apni girlfriend ko hi dalega na usmein. Welcome 2 bana toh usmein apni girlfriend ko daal diya batao, ab main kya karun? (If a sequel of Welcome is made, then the director will only cast his girlfriend. When Welcome 2 was made, he cast his girlfriend in the film. What do I do now?).
She further added-
I don’t have any boyfriend in Bollywood, I have never been with any actor, director or producer. With me like this is my work, if you think I am worthy of your project I would love to be a part of it. But if a director, or a producer or an actor – if they want to cast their girlfriends then it’s their choice.
