Son of Kannada legend, Dr Rajkumar, Power Star Puneeth Rajkumar has passed away after suffering from cardiac arrest at the age of 46. He was rushed to a hospital in Bengaluru this morning after he complained of chest pain. After being kept in the ICU for constant monitoring and the doctors performing resuscitating procedures when he was unresponsive, the star finally left for heavenly abode.
Fondly christened as Appu by fans Puneeth has featured in over 29 Kannada films. Some of his well-known films include Appu, Veera Kannadiga, Vamshi, Raam, Hudugaru, Raajakumara, and Anjani Putra. He was last seen in the 2021 film Yuvarathnaa. The actor’s fan following is tremendous and many fellow industry mates of Puneeth have been left heartbroken at the news of his sudden demise. Taking to their social media accounts, many artists all over India including R Madhavan, Vivek Oberoi and filmmaker Boney Kapoor are expressing their grief.

Puneeth began working in films as a child actor and even has a National Film Award to his credit for Best Child Artist for his role in the 1985 film Bettada Hoovu. The star has also bagged the Karnataka State Award for Best Child Artist for his work in Chalisuva Modagalu and Yeradu Nakshatragalu.
