Just a few days back, S0uth superstar Rajinikanth visited Delhi to receive the esteemed Dadasaheb Phalke award at the 67th National Film Awards function. He was honoured with the Lifetime Achievement Award for his contribution to cinema over the years. Now news has come in that he has been admitted to a hospital in Chennai. As per a report by ANI, Rajinikanth had to be hospitalised on Thursday post a ‘routine checkup’.

As per a report in a local publication Daily Tanthi, the actor might be suffering from necrosis. However, while there are complications, it doesn’t seem to be very serious at the moment.

The source said:

Necrosis caused due to inadequate blood supply to the affected area. It may be caused by artery blockages, rupture, mechanical compression, or vasoconstriction.

The 70 year-old veteran actor was also admitted to a hospital in Hyderabad in December 2020 owing to issues with fluctuating blood pressure and complaints of exhaustion.

Speaking of his extensive work, the star has done some amazing films including 2.0, Darbar, Sivaji, Enthiran among many others. Rajinikanth will next feature in Annaatthe, which is set to release on November 4.
