Karan Johar was felicitated by the fourth-highest civilian award, Padma Shri. The honour was done by the President of India Ram Nath Kovind at a ceremony held at the Rashtrapati Bhavan in Delhi. The brilliant director was awarded Padma Shri for his exceptional contribution in the field of performing arts. So far,  Karan has directed many movies that were appreciated afar.

Right after receiving the award, the Ae Dil Hai Mushkil director shared this prestigious experience on his Instagram for his Bollywood companions who shared their warm congratulations on the post. Ranveer Singh commented “bravo, Karan!” and later Malaika Arora, Shanaya Kapoor and several other celebs expressed their happiness for the director.

Take a look at the heartfelt caption that Karan Johar added along with the video:

Today felt surreal! I am honoured and humbled that the prestigious Padma Shri Award was bestowed on me. I feel extremely fortunate to receive it from the hands of our honourable President Shri Ram Nath Kovind. This is a momumental day for me, my mother, my kids and my company, and will forever be etched in my memory. Thank you so much for all your wishes and the abundance of love!❤️

I think Karan has crossed every benchmark when it comes to filmmaking because he has directed films for several genres. Some of the notable films directed by Karan Johar are My Name Is Khan, Kal Ho Naa Ho, Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna, Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, Student Of The Year, last but not the least Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham.
