If there’s one beauty product that can guarantee you an instant transformation, it’s gotta be mascara. Do your lashes need a pick-me-up in terms of volume right before a party? There’s a mascara for that. Do they need a curling effect right before a hot date? BOOM! There’s a mascara for that. The moral of the story, every lash woe in the book has a type of mascara that is the answer to it. If you’re like me and happen to be cursed with short lashes, you know exactly how tedious it is to come across a worthy mascara.

Somehow every mascara I reached out for did nothing but make my lashes clumpy when all I craved was some length. Little did I know that I was shopping for mascaras all wrong! Since the end goal of each mascara is different, not every product is meant for your lashes. So, listen up short-lashed gals, when you’re out shopping for a new one, you need to look for a mascara that has an elongated tip and superfine bristles. This is the secret to having long and fluttery lashes. Confused about which mascara should be your latest buy? We’ve got you covered!

Too Faced, Better Than Sex Mascara

A cult-favourite that stuns every lash it touches, it’s been named rightfully so. Too Faced sells one of these mascaras every 7 seconds, how crazy is that? An hourglass-shaped brush that comes with fine bristles, this mascara has a formula that comes infused with collagen. Just one coat of it will have your lashes not just lengthened but curled to perfection too. I always reach out for this when I’m looking for something dramatic.

Pixi Beauty, Large Lash Mascara

If you happen to have sensitive eyes, this mascara by Pixi Beauty is a great choice. It comes with an intense pigment that coats your lashes gently & provides some much-needed length and thickness. One of my favourite features about this one is how it doesn’t clump at all, even if you’ve coated your lashes with it 3 times— they’re still going to look their best.

Benefit Cosmetics, They’re Real Magnet Black Mascara

Personally, this one surprised me the MOST! I have extremely short lashes, so short that normal mascaras did nothing for them. My life changed after this product walked into it. With an innovative formula that comes oozing with magnetic minerals, the core of this mascara is charged with a magnet. The result you ask? Lustrous lashes that last all day long.

Chanel, Le Volume de Chanel

If you’re in the mood for a maximalist splurge, look no further than this beauty from Chanel. What sets apart this mascara from others is how it utilises both long & short bristles to give you the lashes of yo dreams—all courtesy of the Chanel-exclusive snowflakes brush. The formula is so intensely pigmented that your already dark lashes will look sultry and heavily fanned. It comes enriched with acacia gum which makes sure your curled lashes stay in place.

Essence Cosmetics, Lash Princess Mascara

On a budget? This one from Essence Cosmetics will impress you like no other. It comes with a specially designed applicator that’s conically shaped along with densely packed bristles—this helps in coating your lashes from the end to the tip, so the product is distributed evenly with no clumping at all.
