Bollywood is clearly smitten by love and is totally bringing in the wedding season. Several celebrities seem to be in the mood to tie the knot and the latest one to have gone at least halfway down that road is Chikki Panday and Deanne Panday’s daughter, Alanna Panday. The model and internet sensation surprised us with very romantic engagement pictures with boyfriend Ivor McCray first from a beautiful beach in the Maldives and then from an Indian ceremony with close family and friends before they headed for Los Angeles.
Following the beach engagement Alanna and Ivor had an official Indian style engagement ceremony where only a select few family members and friends were in attendance. While mother Deanne and brother Ahaan Panday were obviously present, Bollywood stars like Lara Dutta and Bipasha Basu also made sure to personally shower their blessings over the bride and groom to be. Alanna looked gorgeous donning an embroidered grey ensemble with a pretty necklace while Ivor charmed everyone in a white sherwani.

Daughter’s engagement or marriage is a big day for any parent and so when Deanne was asked about her feelings, shared an emotional message for her daughter.
She wrote:
How fast my sweet little girl has turned into a strong and intelligent woman. It feels like just yesterday I was singing you to sleep with lullabies and combing your beautiful hair. Sure we’ve had our little tiffs, but the moments of tears have only brought us closer, not just as a mother and her daughter, but as two women. You know I always want the best for you, and that I always act out of love, however painful that maybe sometimes. I want to tell you that I am so proud of the person you have become and so excited to see the life you will continue to lead with poise and determination. While some things may be uncertain now, I know deep down that you are destined to achieve anything, big or small, that you put your incredible mind to. I can’t wait to be there for you every step of the way, showing you my love amid life’s challenges and celebrations, as you continue to grow into the brilliant soul that you are.
Talking about her bond with Alanna exclusively with MissMalini, Deanne said:
The bond between mother and daughter is forever. Our bond persists through the thick and the thin. We are connected biologically through it all, but the real connection is spiritual and made of love. The flow of energy between mother and daughter is among the most powerful in nature. We are there for each other, and at the end of the day, our unconditional love rises above all.
