Five Berry-Toned Looks We've Bookmarked For Some Sultry Inspo

Sakshi Rawte

There’s no denying that off-late mauve and berry tones are making a raging comeback. From being obsessed with chocolatey browns and blacks we’ve slowly made a shift towards going gaga over berry hues. Sometimes a plain old smokey eye can either look too basic or too intense for our liking. That’s where mauve swoops in to save you!

I’ve fallen prey to this whole trend too, my bookmarked images are enough proof for that. But think about it, aren’t berry tones quite refreshing to look at? Not only do they instil some sort of breeziness, but they’re also super versatile. Whether it’s a mauve smokey eye that intensifies the hazel specks in your eyes, a purple blush that just lifts your cheekbones, a berry tinted lipstick that brightens up your face or even a monochrome moment with all things mauve—there's nothing these colours can't do. Here are a few lewks we can’t seem to get enough of—

Muted Plums

While these hues can prove to be a little too overwhelming, a muted eyeshadow with plum and grey undertones can be your best bet if you’re afraid of going all out. Using some kohl at the edges is a perfect way to intensify your eyes a tad bit more. A slight flush of a subtle pink on the cheeks paired with a pinkish-nude and you’re all set to stun!

Smoked Berries

We can’t resist a classic smokey eye on some days. Imagine giving it a rather fruity twist with berry hues. A basic, matte pink eyeshadow gives you a perfect base that can be deepened at the corners with some dark plums and mauves. Smoking out the lower lashline with the same deepened plums takes the smokiness up a notch. This look is oh-so-perfect for a hot Friday night date!

Editorial Drama

With graphic liner having a major moment in 2021, who says graphic eyeshadow can’t be in the spotlight too? This one’s for the days you’re feeling a little too risqué & adventurous. A mauve, feline flick paired with some inner corner berry drama does the trick when you want all eyes on you.

And It Was All Mauve

Monochrome makeup has been all the jazz because of its power to tie it all together with harmony. We love seeing the same colour palette create a seamless look. With splashes of mauve on the eyes and a sharp purple flick, accentuate it a tad bit more with a berry blush. What’s missing? A perfect plum lip and your monochrome vibes are lit.

The Classic Berry

Some of us love playing it safe on most days. Well, who really wants to take the risk of being OTT? There’s nothing that could ever go wrong with a classic berry lip. It’s so versatile, you could practically don it anywhere and everywhere! Breakfast with besties? Check. A quick meeting with the boss? Check. A night out on town? Check.
