Horror is a genre in Indian cinema that is rarely explored and it’s even rare when it is executed well. So, when a film comes around that scares the bejeezus out of you, it needs to be appreciated. And it’s Nushrratt Bharuccha‘s Chhorii that successfully attempts to do so. The trailer of Chhorii was released today and it sees Nushrratt backing a film on her shoulders for the first time.

Watch the trailer here:

In the trailer, the actress essays the role of an eight months pregnant woman who moves to a remote area in the midst of a sugarcane field trying to protect her family from a mysterious situation.

What follows her there turns out to be more mysterious as Nushrratt’s character gets entangled in the history and story of the house she has taken abode in. She is surrounded by secrets and kids who are running around to meet their ‘Chhoti Mayi’. And visually, it does promise to be a spooky ride.

Chhorii has been directed by Vishal Furia and produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, Vikram Malhotra, Jack Davis, and Shikhaa Sharma. It is written by Vishal Furia, Vishal Kapoor, and will release on November 26, 2021.

Nushrratt has been improving with each film of hers and I believe that it’s due time that she gets to explore her histrionics a step further, and this year has made that possible. From romcoms, now the actress has moved to mystery and horror and I just can’t wait for her to scare me away on November 26.
