Katrina Kaif and Shahid Kapoor have the potential to make for an enigmatic pair on screen I believe, but it’s unfortunate that they haven’t been given that chance yet. Coincidentally both of them debuted in the industry in 2003 and have been at the top of their games for a long time, so it does feel strange that no maker thought of bringing these two powerhouses of talents together, but if reports are to be believed, this wait might be over soon as Ali Abbas Zafar is bringing them together on screen for the first time.
Almost a week ago, Ali and Shahid embarked on a project in UAE that the maker described as a ‘crazy, quirky, mad ride of guns and gangs’. Now, according to a report in Pinkvilla, Katrina might be playing the role of an investigating officer in the crime thriller. A trade source told them that the actress’ body double was seen rehearsing with a South African crew for an action scene in the film where a shootout takes place in a casino.

Their report further added that the film is said to be an official remake of the French film Nuit Blanche, which revolves around two cops who plan to rob a shipment of cocaine. Shahid is reportedly playing one of the cops.
The story also has another female character who is Shahid’s character’s estranged wife, and Katrina might have been chosen for that role instead and the reports say that the actress flew down to Abu Dhabi recently. She is also rumoured to be getting married to Vicky Kaushal in the first week of December, so she might be returning for that after completing a start-to-finish schedule for the film.
Katrina is a close friend of Ali, who has directed her in Mere Brother Ki Dulhan, Tiger Zinda Hai and Bharat. The duo is also reportedly collaborating on India’s first female superhero project with the actress playing the said part. However, that has been put on hold for now. But be it the superhero film or this crime thriller with Shahid, it’s always a delight for me to witness the action-packed avatar of Katrina on screen, so with this fresh pairing and her returning to the action space, this film is going to be a must watch.
