Being a Ranbir Kapoor fan, I have been waiting for a long time now for the talented actor to come and mesmerise me on screen again. It has been about three-and-half years since his last release Sanju and his future line-up looks promising and jam-packed, but now we have a date too and I am excited. Ranbir’s Animal has booked the theatres for August 11, 2023.
Since the time it was announced, Animal has been one of the most anticipated projects not just for Ranbir, but the whole Hindi film industry. Director Sandeep Reddy Vanga had said about the film that it will explore the dark side of the human personality and after having seen Ranbir show a glimpse of it in Rockstar and Tamasha, I am really eager to see how further can he push himself to fit into Sandeep’s narrative and vision.

After Kabir Singh, there are high expectations from Sandeep on his sophomore Hindi film project, and the initial details about the film promise that and more. Animal has an intriguing setting of a crime drama involving a father and son, the latter played by Ranbir, which was established with the dark voiceover by the actor in the film’s announcement video. It also boasts an ensemble cast that includes Anil Kapoor, Parineeti Chopra, and Bobby Deol. It is produced by Bhushan Kumar and Krishan Kumar‘s T-Series, Pranay Reddy Vanga‘s Bhadrakali Pictures and Murad Khetani‘s Cine1 Studios.
Ranbir might have been missing in action for more than three years now, but he seems to be promising to make up for it in the next few years with some ambitious projects like Shamshera, Brahmastra, and Luv Ranjan’s romcom. The release dates of all except Brahmastra have already been announced and I am now just waiting to go and see the versatility and the magic of this powerhouse of talent named Ranbir.
