Being an action & adventure film junkie, the very idea of action and thriller together in a movie just fascinates me. I got a taste of true Bollywood action this year from Shershaah with the military and war backdrop, and with the recently announced project, Code Name Abdul, I am expecting to get a kick of that action again. As much as the genre is enjoyable to watch, it takes a lot to do an action film, and Tanishaa Mukerji seems to have got what it takes. The actress is ready to do some heavy-duty action in Code Name Abdul and I am excited to see this side of her.

This film would mark Tanishaa’s comeback and the first time that she will be trying her hands on the action-thriller genre. After a long break from the films, the actress wanted to do an adventurous film and has finally bagged one. She is thrilled that the audience is going to see a totally new side of her this time.

Check out the first look of the film:

Talking about the film, Tanishaa said:

I have always done lighter films, even breezy ones. Action is something that needs a whole new skill set. I play a mysterious Muslim woman named Salma. Over the last few years, I have tried to evolve as an artist. This was a preparation-intensive role and I have ensured that I do my best at it.

The film’s director, Eshwar Gunturu, stated:

We needed an actor from whom the audience doesn’t expect something like this. Tanishaa has delivered a thunderous performance. She nailed the action and absorbed the details of the character with great precision. I can’t wait for the world to see her on-screen. It’s a special film for us and we are glad to be coming to the theatres. It’s the kind of film that’s designed for the big screen experience.

Code Name Abdul is directed by Eshwar Gunturu and will cast debutant actors Akku Kulhari and Ashok Chaudhary alongside Tanishaa Mukerji. The film is slated to hit the theatres on December 10, and having been missing from the big screen for a while, I am eager to see what Tanishaa would bring to the table after all these years in her new action-packed avatar.
