One of Hollywood’s most talented and loved actors, Keanu Reeves, has always surprised me with his film choices. Be it any type of a role, he possesses the capability to do it convincingly and I say this because I have followed his work on screen religiously. The actor has devoted three decades to Hollywood and is still going with full swing. Lately, a particular rumour had been making rounds on the internet of him collaborating with the Marvel Cinematic Universe for a specific role, and the actor cleared the air on that.
With the phase four of MCU in progress, many Hollywood actors and actresses are getting associated with the superhit Marvel movies, and according to the rumours Keanu Reeves’s name is also one of them. The actor addressed the topic and stated that he is interested in joining the MCU. Keanu spoke with Esquire during an interview for his next Matrix film, The Matrix Resurrections.
Keanu said:
It would be an honour. Some really amazing directors and visionaries. They’re doing something no one’s ever really done. It’s special in that sense, in terms of the scale, the ambition, the production. So it’d be cool to be a part of that
Interestingly, President of the Marvel Studios, Kevin Feige, has expressed that he considers Keanu for every film they make.
Kevin said:
We talk to him for almost every film we make, we talk to Keanu Reeves about, I don’t know when, if, or ever he’ll join the MCU, but we very much want to figure out the right way to do it.
Keanu is now waiting for the release of The Matrix Resurrections the fourth instalment of the franchise, which sees the actor opposite Carrie-Anne Moss, Yahya Abdul-Mahteen, Priyanka Chopra and Jada Pinkett Smith. The film is slated to release on December 22 2021, and is directed by Lana Wachowski. Post that, Keanu will be reprising his role of John Wick once again for the fourth film in the John Wick franchise and being an ardent follower of his work, I am eager to see these films on screen while also wishing for his collaboration with MCU to happen soon.
