I have been a huge admirer of Sushmita Sen ever since I saw her first time on the screen in Biwi No 1. It wasn’t her film debut but my first interaction as a viewer with her. Her soothing voice and her grace and elegance, is something I have never found in anyone else since. Seeing her crowning moment as Miss Universe 1994 on YouTube is a regular thing for me. She has a hold on screen that very few actors do and she has been a part of some really successful films in her career. But I always felt that she deserved more than what she got. Then came OTT and my wish was fulfilled as Sushmita headlined Aarya and reminded everyone of her capabilities. Today, the trailer of Aarya Season 2 was released and I am once again floored by the OG diva. Before going further, let’s take a look at the trailer:

Check out the trailer here:

Aarya Season 1 dealt with the story of the titular character played by Sushmita, who joins a mafia gang to protect her family after her husband is mysteriously killed. In the trailer of season 2, Aarya has returned and she is more dangerous than ever. In the whole 2 minutes 19 seconds, Sushmita shows a range of emotions from a caring mother, a grieving widow to a dangerous don, and I can’t help but be mesmerised by her.

Aarya has now came back with a plan to save her family and is ready to take on anyone coming in her way. She is taken into custody and has to deal with a lot of harm coming her way but Aarya is ready to face it all while figuring out who trust, and she is not someone to be messed with. There is some action also done by Aarya and her deep gaze with colour on her face in the last shot of the trailer, will pierce right through you, leaving you with goosebumps all over.

Aarya Season 2 is created by Ram Madhvani and produced by him, Amita Madhvani and Endemol Shine India. Ram has also taken the director’s chair for it along with Vinod Rawat and Kapil Sharma and the series will stream from December 10 on Disney+ Hotstar.

It’s great to see a talent like Sushmita get the kind of work that she deserves and I have to say that even after being in the industry for over 25 years, the actress still possesses the same freshness and charm that she did on that stage in Philippines at Miss Universe 1994. There’s a reason why Sushmita is respected and idolised worldwide and Aarya Season 2 promises to justify just that.
