Ever since Ek Tha Tiger, Salman Khan has treated his fans with back-to-back action films, the latest being Antim: The Final Truth, and while I enjoy his action avatar on screen a lot, I also miss his comedic roles. Be it Judwaa, Andaz Apna Apna, Mujhse Shaadi Karogi or Partner, his comedy always had an innocence that really appeals to me. He shows comedic glimpses in his action roles as well, but an out-and-out comedic role was last done by him a decade ago in Ready. But now, here’s some happy news for his admirers like me as the actor has confirmed finalising a comedy script.

In an interaction with Pinkvilla, when Salman was prodded about the presence of any comedy film in his upcoming line up, the actor answered in the affirmative.

He said:

“Yes, that hunt (for comedy) has come to an end. A comedy film is coming soon… Bahut Jald hogi ek comedy film.”

Not only that, the actor also hinted on his return to his most beloved character Prem with frequent collaborator, filmmaker Sooraj Barjatya.

He shared:

“Yes, Sooraj’s film will come soon. No one can make the kind of films that Sooraj does and he will get a script for me soon. That film will happen once Sooraj comes to me.”

Talking about his future line up, Salman said:

“I have Tiger up for release next.  I am almost done shooting for it. I am producing some three to four films under SKF, which will start soon. They are very good films. One of them is called Bakre Ki Eid and it will come on Bakri Eid.”

I have really enjoyed the comic side of Salman on screen, especially in the 2000s, so it is a big and happy news for me to know he is returning to that genre. But even before that he has some spectacles in the offing, including Tiger 3, Kabhi Eid Kabhi Diwali and also an appearance in Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathan, and that will be a treat to watch for every Bollywood buff in the country.
