Katrina Kaif is one such Hindi film actress who, I believe, doesn’t get enough credit for her diverse film choices. She has tried her hand in drama, comedy, romcoms, action and also the masala potboilers Bollywood is known for, and she has given successful projects in each. Having followed her career closely, I have always loved and admired the actress whenever she has tried to break out her mould and attempted something different, be it New York, Rajneeti or Jagga Jasoos. Next year, she is also trying her hand at horror-comedy with Phone Bhoot. But currently reeling in the success of Sooryavanshi, I believe the actress’ one of the most challenging act is going to be in Sriram Raghavan’s next and now there is an update on the film.
According to a report in Pinkvilla, the actress is all set to start the shoot of Sriram’s film, which is reportedly titled Merry Christmas and will star her opposite Vijay Sethupathi. The film is produced by Ramesh Taurani.
A source told:
“Merry Christmas is scheduled to go on the floors from December 15 in Mumbai, and Katrina has confirmed her dates to the makers. She and Vijay both will be a part of this portion, which will be followed by an outdoor schedule at a later date. Katrina is a thorough professional, and Merry Christmas is also an important priority for her.”
Katrina is known in the industry for her work ethics and dedication and I am sure that just like how Sriram’s Andhadhun reinvented Ayushmann Khurrana’s positioning in Bollywood, Merry Christmas would do the same for Katrina. Sriram’s style of filmmaking has always been pathbreaking and with a cast like Katrina and Vijay, this film also promises the same, if not more.
