Making a grand spectacle in cinema for the audience is something that every filmmaker wants to do in their career, but it requires a lot of research, money and patience. Even one of them missing can hinder its progress and that’s what happened with Aditya Dhar’s The Immortal Ashwaththama. I was really excited and intrigued by the film’s poster and the scale it was set on, plus the added bonus was that Indian cinema was getting another superhero. However, due to overbudgeting, the film backed by Ronnie Screwvala, was put on the back burner. However, as per the recent reports, seems like the Vicky Kaushal and Sara Ali Khan-starrer is back on track.

According to a report in Pinkvilla, the pre-production work on the film has been resumed and the makers are working in full swing to get the project on the floor.

A source shared:

“Director Aditya Dhar has started getting his team back together, and the pre-production work has begun again. A large team of concept artists are working on the film, while Aditya and his team will revisit some of the international locations again in sometime for finalising them. The makers plan to take the film on the floors by 2022 end.”

Apart from Krrish, there hasn’t been a successful superhero in Indian cinema and the promise that The Immortal Ashwaththama was showing with it’s first poster release, I was really looking forward to witness this universe. There was a roadblock in between but seems like the clear skies are right ahead and I am excited to see this journey unfold for the film.
