Shah Rukh Khan has been away from the big screen for the last three years, and being an admirer of the Badshah, I have been eagerly waiting for his return to the 70 mm screens. In the last few years, there have been reports of multiple projects that have been signed by SRK, and one of the most awaited amongst them has to be Pathan. With Deepika Padukone paired opposite him and John Abraham as the antagonist, the cast couldn’t have got any bigger and I am all for it. And now, the recent reports suggest an interesting development on the film.

According to a report in Pinkvilla, SRK is all set to start the new schedule of this Siddharth Anand-directorial this month, with his leading lady and nemesis on screen also joining in.

A source said:

“The team will start shooting for Pathan from December 15 to shoot some really important sequences of the film. It’s a schedule that’s expected to go on for 15 to 20 days and all the three key actors – SRK, Deepika and John – will be a part of this stint. The team will be shooting at a closed set up in Mumbai.”

The report further states that this schedule in Mumbai will be followed by a long international schedule but the dates and location for that are still not finalised.

The source added:

“Siddharth Anand and YRF are in extensive discussions to make this international schedule happen to give their audience the grandeur that they are expecting from Pathan. The idea is to shoot some visually appealing scenes with the leading actors at breath-taking real locations. One will have an exact clarity on the international leg of Pathan in the next few weeks, as for now, all the eyes are on the Indian schedule.”

Although officially not announced yet, SRK reportedly has three projects in pipeline with Atlee’s next actioner that has the actor in a double role, Rajkumar Hirani’s immigration drama and Pathan. The latter is clearly one of the most awaited projects to arrive on the big screen in the coming years. I am eagerly waiting to see SRK and Deepika recreate the magic on screen that I have seen before in Om Shanti Om and Chennai Express. Also, I am sure that seeing John as the baddie will be a treat for all cinema lovers like me. So, until it all gets official, I am reeling in the excitement of this new development, waiting with bated breath for this marvel to arrive on screen.
