Shahid Kapoor's 'Bloody Daddy' With Ali Abbas Zafar To Reportedly Release In Theatres In 2022

Ever since the release of Kabir Singh in 2019, Shahid Kapoor’s career has risen to new heights and I am loving this new phase of the actor’s career. He has been very meticulous with his choice of projects for a long time now and with a line up that contains Jersey, Bull, his web debut with Raj & DK and an action film with Ali Abbas Zafar which is tentatively titled Bloody Daddy, I am totally amazed and excited for it. The actor is currently shooting for the latter in the UAE and now some interesting reports have come up regarding that film.

According to a report in Pinkvilla, the actioner, which was earlier touted to be a digital project, is actually going to be arriving in theatres in the second half of 2022.

A source said:

“Ever since the beginning, the Ali Abbas Zafar and Shahid Kapoor project has been conceptualized as a big scale action thriller for the cinema halls. All the stakeholders believe that an action thriller like this has a massive theatrical audience, and this combo of Ali with Shahid will create the right amount of noise. The only and only circumstance under which this might premiere on OTT is if the country goes in a prolonged lockdown again, however, everyone in the country is optimistic that the dull days won't arrive again. There has been a confusion over its release medium since Ali was discussing some other project with an OTT platform, however, that’s not happening at the moment.”

Bloody Daddy will be globally distributed by Jio Studios, and it is also presenting this one-night thriller along with producers Ali, Himanshu Mehra, Sunir Kheterpal and Gaurav Bose. Reportedly, the makers also have some future plans in the pipeline for the film.

The source added:

“If the first film succeeds, Ali, Shahid and their producer partners are planning to spin this film into a franchise on the lines of Taken.”

Shahid has been showing a class act in this new phase of his career and I am loving the actor and his choices. Ever since Haider, the actor has undergone a change in the industry’s perception towards him and shined in each of his roles. With an exciting line up like this, I am sure the same will happen with all of these upcoming projects too.
