The soulful singer Monali Thakur who is known for her soothing songs like Sawaar loon, Cham Cham, Badri K Dulhania, Moh Moh Ke Dhaage, has also ventured into acting. I remember watching Monali as a contestant on Indian Idol season 2 and since then she has appeared on television as a judge or guest on reality shows. And according to a report in MidDay, the actress has started filming for her next titled Dukaan.
A source told the tabloid that,
Monali started shooting for the film in Gujarat on Wednesday and is excited to play one of the two protagonists in Dukaan.
More details about the film are yet to be announced. Dukaan marks the directorial debut of Siddharth-Garima the writers of Shahid Kapoor‘s Kabir Singh and Akshay Kumar‘s Toilet: Ek Prem Katha.
Monali made her acting debut with a Bengali film named Krishnakanter Will directed by Raja Sen, later her Bollywood debut was in the film Lakshmi. The singer-actress also had a cameo in PK as a Kashmiri Girl. Now I am excited to know more details about her character in this film.
