Today, SS Rajamouli and the cast of his next RRR treated all of us to yet another spectacle. And while the trailer of the period action drama is all things grand, what I had been most excited about right from the announcement was to see Ram Charan, Jr NTR, Alia Bhatt, and Ajay Devgn share screen space. I must say, right from the Baahubali days Rajamouli has been my favorite director, for, he gave us a cinema that hadn't been witnessed ever before. And that is what also raised my expectations from RRR.

Like me, there are many more who are waiting to relive that Baahubali experience with this film. At the trailer launch in Mumbai today, when the filmmaker was questioned about living up to these expectations, he had an interesting point to make.

Before you read what the director had to say, check out RRR's trailer here:

On living up to people's expectations, he said:

Obviously, a lot of people will be expecting the same kind of film after Baahubali, but we cannot keep making the same kind of films again and again. If you look deeply, the audience is not waiting for another Baahubali, they are waiting for the kind of experience they had in the film. The kind of emotion they felt in the film is what they want.

He further added...

I am aware of the kind of expectations people have. I will be banking more on the story, the characters, the relationship between them, and the emotional highs we get when we watch the characters. And the trailer or the previous track record will only help us bring the audiences to the theatre, but 2-3 minutes into the film, they’ll be watching what the film is and not what we did before.

I can only imagine what it would be for the stars and the makers to be a part of this project. And after this spectacular trailer, I cannot wait to see this film on the big screen.
