In my opinion, if there is a filmmaker out there in Bollywood who has explored the nooks and corners of the underworld and the gangster genre, it has to be Sanjay Gupta. The filmmaker has given gems like Kaante, Shootout At Lokhandwala, Shootout At Wadala and this year’s Mumbai Saga. But his repertoire is not just limited to that, he has also given some successful dramas like Jazbaa and Kaabil, and as per latest reports, he is now all set to explore his vision further in another genre.
According to a report by Peeping Moon, Sanjay is currently making a big-budget sports film and the lead actor on board for it is Harshvardhan Rane.

“Sanjay Gupta’s film with Harshvardhan Rane is a big-budget film based on soccer. It’s a complete departure from his previous multi-starrer action films he has widely been known for. Gupta is embarking on a new journey with this fascinating project and has already begun prepping for it. Sunir Kheterpal of Athena Entertainment is producing the film along with Gupta’s home banner White Feature Films.”
The film hasn’t yet been given a title but it is expected to go on the floors in March 2022. Before that, Harshvardhan has to complete his out-and-out action film, Ambush, which will go into production this month. This fast-paced actioner is being helmed by Nilesh Sahay and sees Rane playing Special Security Commando who must protect a high-value target from world’s greatest threats. It is set against a global financial crisis challenging the fate of humanity, and Harshvardhan is expected to wrap this film up by February 2022.
Apart from these, Harshvardhan also has a thriller titled Kun Faya Kun which revolves around a family holiday gone wrong due to a secret being revealed, and John Abraham production’s slice-of-life drama, Tara Vs Tara, which is helmed by Samar Iqbal, who had previously directed Bobby Jasoos.
Harshvardhan showed a lot of promise with the underrated romantic gem Sanam Teri Kasam, but after this year’s Haseen Dillruba, the actor came into the limelight and since then, he has been receiving some amazing offers. It’s always a pleasure to see talent getting recognised and having seen what this actor can do on screen, I have high expectations from him. I am sure he is headed towards a brighter future.
