I remember watching Rajkumar Hirani’s Munna Bhai MBBS on TV for the first time and regretting not going to the theatres to witness its magic. Even today, the film holds up in terms of its concept and creativity and if it is coming on TV any day, I do have to make time to watch it from start to end. And now it feels more fun as I know even the dialogues and every event in the film by heart. It feels surreal to process that the film completed 18 years yesterday as it always has been apart of my life and still feels fresh. And on the film’s 18th anniversary, the Munna Bhai himself, Sanjay Dutt had a special request.

The actor was recently attending the 'Khasdar Sanskrutik Mahotsav' at Ishwar Deshmukh College ground in Nagpur as a Chief Guest. In the event, he was asked by the people present about when will they get to see him in Munna Bhai 3, and to that, the actor had the perfect reply.

Sanjay said:

“I am tired of requesting Raju Hirani for it so many times. Since he hails from Nagpur, I appeal to all you Nagpurians to press him for taking the Munna Bhai franchise ahead.”

This statement from Sanjay baba invited a huge roaring applause from the audience, and why wouldn’t it. Munna Bhai franchise has been a part of all our lives for the last 19 years, with Sanjay, Arshad Warsi, Gracy Singh, Boman Irani, Jimmy Sheirgill and Sunil Dutt, amongst the other cast members, entertaining us all the way. The film even went on to win a National Award for the Best Popular Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment and it’s second part, Lage Raho Munna Bhai also garnered a lot of love. Ever since then, there have been a lot of speculations and news around the third part but nothing ever materialised. I just hope that Rajkumar sir is listening to this request and we get to see Munna and Circuit grace our screens again, taking us on a yet another fun-filled ride.
