Sanjay Leela Bhansali has given the best version of Indian cinema through his films and even 25 years down the line, I adore the filmmaker's passion for the craft. And even though SLB has reinvented himself as a director and producer, after television, he has chosen to explore the OTT world. Yes, Mr. Bhansali is making his debut in the webspace with the show Heeramandi. A lot has been spoken about it, especially in terms of the cast. And now there is another update regarding the show's storyline.

According to a report in Mid-Day, SLB's team for Heeramandi has been busy building a grand set for the show in Film City, Goregaon. Reportedly, the work of building this set is in full swing and it will reflect the pre-independence Lahore.

Talking about the set a source told Mid-Day,

The story that spans three generations is set in a district in Lahore of pre-Independence India. Over the past 15 days, the production design team has been supervising as the workers are recreating Lahore of the bygone era, building alleys and bazaars of the city. Given the nature of the show, it demands a large crew. Bhansali sir will lead a cast and crew of about 300.

Well, it is also being said that a major part of Heeramandi will be shot on this set. And if all goes planned the show will go on floors by February 2022. As per reports, Sonakshi Sinha, Diana Penty, and Manisha Koirala will be playing major parts in this Netflix production.

Being a Sanjay Leela Bhansali fan, I am totally waiting for things to get rolling for this show. On that note, there is also SLB directed Gangubai Kathiawadi, starring Alia Bhatt releasing in 2022, and I cannot wait to see it.
