New pairings not only bring freshness to the screens but also create an intrigue amongst the audience to watch their two loved stars come together for the first time. It brings together the fandom of two artists, thus expanding the reach of the project. 2022 is going to be no different with so many fresh pairings ready to mesmerize the audience. It was difficult to choose, but I have.
Here are the 10 new Bollywood pairings I am excited to witness on screen in 2022:
Deepika Padukone and Siddhant Chaturvedi in Gehraiyaan
Deepika is a bonafide superstar today while Siddhant is making a place in my heart with each performance of his. The teaser of Gehraiyaan gave me a glimpse of the electrifying chemistry between the two, and with Shakun Batra’s vision behind it, I am sure it’s going to be a wonderful experience to witness on screen.
Rajkummar Rao and Bhumi Pednekar in Badhaai Do
These two are such amazing artists, that when it was first announced that they were coming together for Badhaai Do, I was taken aback a little by the fact that why did it take so long for these two powerhouses of talents to come together. Nevertheless, I am sure they will be creating their magic on screen that they always do, and with the effect of both of them combined, it’s going to be a wild ride.
Sidharth Malhotra and Disha Patani in Yodha
Sidharth and Disha are one of the best-looking actors out there in Bollywood, so the beauty quotient of Yodha is already off the charts to begin with. But the chemistry the two showed in the reel that they uploaded on the wrap up of the film’s first schedule recently, I am really looking forward to see that come alive on the big screen in a much larger way.
Ayushmann Khurrana and Rakul Preet Singh in Doctor G
Until the release of Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui, I didn’t even realize how much I was missing Ayushmann’s kind of cinema and now that I have tasted that again, I want more. And what makes Doctor G all the more special is his pairing with Rakul, who has climbed up on the ladder of success so beautifully in the recent years in Bollywood. This is surely going to be a must-watch.
Varun Dhawan and Kiara Advani in Jug Jugg Jeeyo
I was intrigued by the first photoshoot these two did together and that intrigue reached an all-time high when the makers of Jug Jugg Jeeyo released the wedding stills from the film along with the its release date announcement. This is actually the one I am waiting for the most to witness on screen as I am sure that Varun and Kiara together will be sheer magic.
Prabhas and Kriti Sanon in Adipurush
One is a global superstar and the other one is climbing up to that feat, combine that with the iconic characters of Lord Ram and Sita, and you have a winner. This pairing has all the things going in its favour and it’s really going to be a divine experience to witness these two together on screen.
Ananya Panday and Vijay Deverakonda in Liger
Another South-Bollywood pairing that has me curious is Vijay and Ananya in Liger. The film’s star cast and grandeur already has me hooked and it’s really going to be an adventurous ride that I am really excited to embark upon.
Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor in Brahmastra
These real life lovebirds are all set to unite on screen for the first time in Brahmastra, and I am excited to see how their real life love connection translates to the reel life. If the film’s recently released motion poster is something to go by, it’s going to be a grand experience worth remembering.
Ranveer Singh and Jacqueline Fernandez in Cirkus
With the amount of energy these two actors have, it feels like they are cut out of the same cloth. So, I only wonder what an adrenaline-filled ride it would have been on Cirkus with Ranveer and Jacqueline together. These two will surely set the house on fire with their energies and enthusiasm and I can’t wait to witness that.
Katrina Kaif and Vijay Sethupathi in Merry Christmas
Vijay and Katrina are the latest entrants on this list as their film was just announced on Christmas, and I am sure this union of the two superstars of two industries, with a visionary like Sriram Raghavan behind it, is only going to make my Christmas a lot merrier in 2022.
With so many fresh pairings headed our way in the coming years, it was difficult to narrow it down to just 10, but I am sure that these pairings will set a new benchmark with their chemistry, thus forcing makers to bring them alive on screen yet again in their future projects. For now, I am just enjoying their pictures together, awaiting releases of their films.
