Lingerie is an absolute closet essential, after all, it’s the first thing you put on and the last thing you take off every day. With intimate garments, it all comes down to what’s going to make you look and feel your best. The ideal pair of underwear is one you can entirely forget about the moment after you’ve put it on. Now when looking for lingerie I always look for pieces that are practical yet, sensual. Being comfy is a number one priority for me and that makes finding the perfect pieces that look ravishing quite the task. Here are some styles and fabrics that tick both boxes!
Let’s take a look:
1. Mesh
Mesh is a breathable, light and sheer fabric. This delicate fabric does not add much bulk, providing a smooth and flawless look. This lighter than air fabric has to be one of my favourites as it really does feel like you’re not wearing anything! Mesh is also commonly used as a backing to other fabrics because of its comfy feel and sheer look. These airy and versatile pieces are perfect for the summer and a definite wardrobe must-have.
2. High-Waisted Underwear
Now, high-waisted might sound like a granny panty, but the plethora of designs and options available for you nowadays prove otherwise. A high-waisted fit also doubles as a tummy tucker which I’m sure all you ladies can appreciate, I know I sure do! This is an absolute saviour if you want to hide your food baby after a big meal or even if you’re just feeling bloated! This style of underwear gives a seamless appearance and are great underneath dresses.
3. Silk Slip Dresses
Silk slip dresses are quite the rage now, and they have every right to be! While being extremely soft and breezy they are also super cute at the same time, definitely a plus in my eyes! I for sure have had some of the best nights sleep in these! Silk is known for its lustrous finish and it offers a delicate and luxe look when adorned. These dresses can also being worn in public on their own which certainly raises the heat in the fashion department! Best believe I’ll be adding more of these versatile dresses to my collection!
4. Lace
Lace comes in a wide range of styles, weights, and textures. The exquisite and intricate designs that lace offers is the touch of spice that your innerwear was missing. I don’t know what it is about lace, but the confidence I exude when I wear lace is unreal! Now there are two types of lace innerwear available, one with inner linings and paddings and one with just lace. While both are equally comfortable, when I want a little more support and lift than usual I opt for padded bras. Being the glorious fabric that it is, lace is bound to bring out that girly side in you!
5. Bodysuit
Bodysuits or a “teddy” covers your torso and hips and often connects at the bottom. They help in giving you that hourglass look while keeping you nicely tucked in, which is great for those elegant, body-hugging dresses. They are available in several different fabrics, like sheer or lace and styles, like low cut or thong bottoms, which makes it easier for you to find the perfect one for you. Personally, I love wearing lace bodysuits as part of my party wear. Just style it with some jeans and heels and you’re ready to take on the town!
