It’s been a while since I got to see Ranbir Kapoor on the big screen. He left me on such a high with his impeccable performance in Sanju and I have been waiting since to see him get back to the 70 mm. The actor has an impressive lineup of films ahead which makes the wait all the more exciting. He was supposed to grace the screens in March this year with Shamshera, but with the way the new surge in Covid cases is causing postponement of releases yet again, there are the clouds of uncertainty looming over its release. But amidst all that, there is a new update by producer Bhushan Kumar on the actor’s next with Sandeep Reddy Vanga, titled Animal.

Ranbir has been shooting for Luv Ranjan’s untitled romcom with Shraddha Kapoor in Mumbai and Delhi and reportedly, it is to wrap up by March. And seems like right after that the actor will jump straight into the shoot of Animal, as the producer confirms it in a conversation with Pinkvilla.

Bhushan shared:

“We have started a Ranbir Kapoor film with Luv Ranjan and then, there’s another film that we are doing with him called Animal. It’s directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga and we begin shooting in March. Animal will be like what Kabir Singh was. One relatable story that happens in our society with Anil Kapoor and Ranbir Kapoor in lead.”

The T-Series maverick is one of the busiest producers out there with a long and impressive lineup of films to follow. These films are with some of the biggest stars of not just Bollywood, but from the South as well.

Talking about the lineup, Bhushan said:

“We are producing Thank God with Ajay (Devgn) sir and Sidharth (Malhotra). We also have Vikram Vedha with Hrithik (Roshan) and Saif (Ali Khan). There is another film that we will be announcing soon with Ajay sir. We have something which we will definitely be doing together in the near future (with Akshay Kumar). I can’t announce it right now. Yes, talks are on and we will certainly be doing it together.”

The producer goes on to state that if all goes well and things aren’t again disrupted much due to the pandemic, his production house is slated to release around 15-20 films in 2022. It might have been a long wait to see Ranbir back on screen, but with a slate of films like Shamshera, Brahmastra, Luv Ranjan’s next and Animal, I am sure that all this wait will be worth it.
